Football Recap: Shelton Takes a Loss

Shelton was the 56-8 winner over Coram Deo Academy when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Chargers took a blow against the Lions on Friday, falling 65-28.

Shelton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Myers, who picked up 129 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Heston Dios was another key signal caller, throwing for 226 yards and three touchdowns.

Shelton now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Coram Deo Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Shelton will welcome Pantego Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Coram Deo Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Mercy Culture Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
