Basketball Recap: Rutland Comes Up Short

Rutland and Carver squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Rutland had to settle for second. They were dealt a 71-33 defeat at the hands of the Carver Tigers. The Hurricanes just can't catch a break and have now endured seven losses in a row.

Rutland's defeat dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Carver, they pushed their record up to 25-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Rutland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carver, they will square off against Burke County on Saturday. One thing working in Carver's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 18 games.
