Soccer Game Preview: Stony Point vs. Cedar Ridge

The Stony Point Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Cedar Ridge Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Stony Point is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against McNeil on Wednesday. Neither Stony Point nor McNeil could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 4-4 draw. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Tigers' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Cedar Ridge has been on a difficult stretch since their win on the third. They lost 5-0 to Round Rock on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while the Dragons are ranked 106th).

Cedar Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5-1. Stony Point's draw makes their record 3-4-1 this season.

Everything went Stony Point's way against Cedar Ridge in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Stony Point made off with a 5-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stony Point since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
