Basketball Game Preview: Newhalen Malamutes vs. Susitna Valley Rams

The Newhalen Malamutes will head out on the road to face off against the Susitna Valley Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Newhalen is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Newhalen was beaten by Tanalian 73-38.

Meanwhile, Susitna Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a hard 72-55 fall against Seward.

Newhalen's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Susitna Valley, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-5.

Newhalen came up short against Susitna Valley when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 56-48. Can Newhalen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
