Soccer Game Preview: Irving vs. MacArthur

Irving hasn't had much luck against MacArthur recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Irving challenge the MacArthur at 7:15 p.m. MacArthur took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Irving, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Irving turned things around against Berkner on Friday. They beat the Rams by a goal, winning 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Tigers were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, MacArthur's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 2-0 to Pearce. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 137th).

MacArthur has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. Irving's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 4-10.
