Softball Preview: Beechwood Tigers vs. Ludlow Panthers        
        
		
            The Beechwood Tigers are taking a road trip to  square off against the Ludlow Panthers  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Beechwood came out on top against Villa Madonna  on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run third inning. The Tigers were the clear victors by  a  16-1 margin over the Vikings. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Meanwhile,  it was a proper cat-fight when Ludlow faced off against Bellevue on Wednesday. The Panthers blew past the Tigers 17-4. The  win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.
 Evie Orsua made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out 13 batters over  six innings while giving up  four earned runs off   six  hits. Orsua was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-5 with four  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run. She is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last four games she's  played.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Shelby Ralston, who  got on base  in all five of her plate appearances with seven  stolen bases, five  runs,  and two  doubles. She has been hot, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last six times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Miley Lay, who  went 3-for-5 with four  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and one  triple.
 Ludlow  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 16  hits. That's the most  hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.
 The  victory  got Ludlow back to even at 7-7-1. As for Beechwood, they now  have a winning record of 10-9.
 Beechwood beat Ludlow 20-17  when the teams last played  back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
