Basketball Game Preview: Jackson Generals vs. Dade Christian Warriors

The Jackson Generals and the Dade Christian Warriors will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Jackson's victory against North Miami wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Generals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-52 win over the Pioneers on Thursday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Generals' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Pioneers are ranked 629th).

Meanwhile, Dade Christian put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past American 56-53.

Dade Christian's win came from a few key players Jackson will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nikola Mirkovic, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds. His big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Alonso, who posted 19 points.

Dade Christian's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Jackson, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
