Baseball Game Preview: Arroyo Knights vs. Valencia Tigers

The Arroyo Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Valencia Tigers at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Arroyo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Edgewood a 7-0 shutout. The Knights not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 4th (when they won 7-0).

Richard Inostroz made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Antuna, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gio Perez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Valencia had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 11-6. Valencia's win was all the more impressive since the Patriots were averaging only 3.8 runs allowed on the season.

Arroyo's record is now 13-10-1. As for Valencia, their record now sits at 10-14.
