Baseball Recap: Edgewood Drops Season-High Score on Conneaut

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Edgewood). They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over the Conneaut Spartans on Tuesday. The Warriors have beaten the Spartans the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Spartans has come to flipping the script.

Devon Sanchez was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Logan Randolph was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Chris Ende was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Edgewood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Edgewood now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Conneaut, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Edgewood will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
