Recap: Trico Pioneers vs. Sparta Bulldogs
The Trico Pioneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Sparta 64-34. Trico was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-9.
Sparta's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Damian Lanton led the charge by scoring 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Greer, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Trico has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season. As for Sparta, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8.
Trico will be playing at home against Christopher at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sparta, they will head out on the road to face off against Carlyle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Carlyle will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
