Baseball Game Preview: Durand/Pecatonica Rivermen vs. Dakota Indians

The Durand/Pecatonica Rivermen will head out on the road to challenge the Dakota Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dakota took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Durand/Pecatonica, who comes in off a win.

Durand/Pecatonica is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Orangeville 14-8 on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Rivermen as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Dakota fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Pearl City on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolves 6-0 in the first period.

Braxton Mazurkiewicz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Dakota is 5-2 when Mazurkiewicz posts two or more runs, but 6-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Bowers, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one double.

Durand/Pecatonica's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-14. As for Dakota, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-11.
