Volleyball Recap: Peoria Comes Up Short

Peoria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Estrella Foothills Wolves. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Wolves when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-7, 25-6.

Estrella Foothills found their leader in sophomore Lily Merefield, who had 15 assists and four aces. Merefield has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last ten times she's played.

Peoria's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Estrella Foothills, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

Coming up, Peoria is taking a road trip to take on Cactus at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Estrella Foothills, they will take on Tolleson in a tournament on Friday.
