Baseball Game Preview: Niagara Falls Wolverines vs. Grand Island Vikings

The Niagara Falls Wolverines will square off against the Grand Island Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Grand Island took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Niagara Falls, who comes in off a win.

Grand Island will be up against a hot Niagara Falls team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Wolverines' way against Kenmore East on Tuesday as they made off with a 13-2 victory.

The team relied heavily on Johnathan Touma, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Aiden Hamilton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Niagara Falls hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kenmore East struck out 12 times.

Meanwhile, Grand Island came up short against Lockport on Tuesday and fell 10-6.

Niagara Falls' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average this season. As for Grand Island, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
