Basketball Game Preview: Rouse Raiders vs. Leander Lions

The Rouse Raiders will head out to take on the Leander Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rouse knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Leander likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Rouse beat Cedar Park 62-54. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 561st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Luke Baldwin was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (five). Isaac Montgomery was another key player, putting up nine points and five assists.

Meanwhile, Leander waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 62-31 win over the Lobos.

Rouse is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Leander, their record is now 21-6.

Rouse came up short against Leander in their previous meeting on January 3rd, falling 40-35. Can Rouse avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
