After a string of three wins, Walnut Grove's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to the Melissa Cardinals 38-32. The Wildcats were probably out for revenge after losing 37-25 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Walnut Grove's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Melissa, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 17-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walnut Grove will challenge Denison at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Melissa, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Melissa Cardinals take on the Greenville Lions at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Melissa is facing Greenville at the right time seeing as Greenville is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
