The Overfelt Royals will face off against the Gunderson Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Overfelt is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Overfelt will bounce into Monday's match after beating James Lick, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Royals were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Comets on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Royals in their matchups with the Comets: they've now won three in a row.

HUGO JERONIMO spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Overfelt's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is undefeated (and 6-10 when he doesn't).
At the plate, BRIAN BECERRA DADO was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Overfelt is undefeated when BECERRA DADO posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was ELIJAH CASTANEDA-AZCUETA, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, two RBI, and one run.
Overfelt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as James Lick only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Gunderson ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Mt. Pleasant 9-8. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
The team relied heavily on Dominic Lake, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played. Isaiah Chavez was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Overfelt's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Gunderson, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Overfelt has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Gunderson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Overfelt's way against Gunderson in their previous meeting back in April, as Overfelt made off with a 17-4 win. Do the Royals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grizzlies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
