Basketball Recap: Camelback Spartans vs. North Mustangs
Make it six blowout wins for the Camelback Spartans this season. Everything went their way against North on Thursday as Camelback made off with a 71-48 win. Winning may never get old, but Camelback sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Leading Camelback to victory were Aken Logan and Jaylin Ideran. Logan scored 28 points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Ideran dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Ideran has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played. Kofi Idris was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Despite the loss, North had strong showings from Trystan Williams, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds, and Vicente Castro, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Xavier Moreno, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Camelback has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-14.
Camelback will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Maryvale has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 623 points over their last nine matches. As for North, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Browne is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season.
