Soccer Game Preview: Plantation vs. West Broward

The Plantation Colonels will square off against the West Broward Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Plantation has three straight victories, West Broward has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Plantation's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Hollywood Hills. That's two games straight that the Colonels have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when West Broward challenged Pembroke Pines Charter on Wednesday. West Broward lost 7-0 to Pembroke Pines Charter. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 361st, while the Jaguars are ranked 13th).

Plantation has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six games. As for West Broward, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1.

Plantation might still be hurting after the 5-0 loss they got from West Broward in their previous meeting back in December of 2018. Can Plantation avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
