Baseball Game Preview: Mount Pleasant Green Knights vs. Newark Yellowjackets

The Mount Pleasant Green Knights will head out to square off against the Newark Yellowjackets at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Mount Pleasant lost 10-1 to Polytech on Friday.

Meanwhile, Newark came up short against St. Georges Tech on Thursday, falling 10-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost six in a row.

Newark's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Mount Pleasant, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Everything went Mount Pleasant's way against Newark in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Mount Pleasant made off with a 9-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Green Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
