Softball Game Preview: North Adams Green Devils vs. Portsmouth West Senators

The North Adams Green Devils will venture away from home to take on the Portsmouth West Senators at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

North Adams came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Batavia, falling 11-2. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Green Devils couldn't push the score so high this time.

North Adams saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carlee Garrison, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, while Portsmouth West put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Fairland. Portsmouth West came out on top against Fairland by a score of 3-0.

Portsmouth West pushed their record up to 1-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average this season. As for North Adams, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

North Adams might still be hurting after the 16-0 loss they got from Portsmouth West in their previous matchup back in March of 2021. Can North Adams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
