Softball Recap: Liberty Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Liberty hadn't done well against Heritage recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Redhawks never let the Coyotes get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. Considering the Redhawks have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Addison Hanson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, Adeline Glatch was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Madison Terry, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Liberty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Liberty has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Heritage, their loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-16.
