Baseball Recap: Gateway Takes a Loss

Gateway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 8-4 to the Greeley West Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Olympians of the 11-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Gateway saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Vazquez, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave Vazquez a new career-high in hits.

Gateway's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Gateway will welcome Lincoln at 4:00 p.m. on March 17th. As for Greeley West, they will square off against Northridge at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
