Champlain Valley Union has two straight undefeated state championship seasons.

1. Champlain Valley Union (Hinesburg)
2013-14 finish: 24-0
Head coach: Ute Otley

Champlain Valley Union has posted two straight undefeated seasons in winning back-to-back state crowns, but it loses two-time state player of the year Emily Kinneston and all-state selection Kaelyn Kohlasch to graduation. The Redhawks three players from last year's team, all juniors, including third team all-state pick Laurel Jaunich and honorable mention all-state selection Sadie Otley.

2. Rice Memorial (South Burlington)
2013-14 finish: 21-3
Head coach: Tim Rice



Hailee Barron, a four-year standout and three-time all-state player, has graduated for the Green Knights, but coach Tim Rice returns five players from last year's team that reached the Division I championship game. Two of those players earned all-state honorable mention honors, including senior guard Lexy Avonda and senior forward Carolyn Snell.

3. Williamstown
2013-14 finish: 22-1
Head coach: Sid Sweet Jr.

The Lady Devils saw their chance at an undefeated season come to an end with a 90-84 loss to Thetford Academy in the Division III state championship game. Williamstown entered the finals with a 22-0 record. Four starters return, as well as seven of the team's top eight scorers. Danielle Jesmonth, a third team all-state selection, is the top returning scorer at 13.2 points, 5.4 assists and 6.2 steals per game. She's joined by senior Carissa Carrier and sophomore Jayme Ducharme, each of whom averaged nine points a game in 2014.

4. Mt. Abraham (Bristol)
2013-14 finish: 18-4
Head coach: Connie LaRose



Mt. Abraham captured its second straight Division II state championship, holding off Fair Haven 43-30 for the title last year. Kate Goodell, a four-year starter and a first team all-state selection, has graduated. However honorable mention all-state selection Isabel Brennan returns for her senior year.

5. Thetford Academy
2013-14 finish: 22-1
Head coach: Eric Ward

Thetford Academy won the first state championship in school history with a 90-84 win over Williamstown in the Division III championship game last year. Coach Eric Ward loses seven key seniors to graduation, including all-state selection Shyann Josler who scored over 1,000 points in her career. Michaela Pomeroy, a senior guard who earned honorable mention all-state honors as a junior, is the top returning player for Thetford.
