Softball Recap: Sutherlin Takes a Loss

Sutherlin had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 2-8 to make it five. They lost 16-4 to the Glide Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent loss being a 11-2 defeat on Friday.

Morgan McKinney made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

As for Glide, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.

On Glide's side, Ella Weber made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Weber was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Samantha Moyers, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Molly Kercher, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
