Baseball Game Preview: Lakeside Vikings vs. Chamblee Bulldogs

Lakeside has gone 9-1 against Chamblee recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Lakeside Vikings will be playing at home against the Chamblee Bulldogs at 2:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lakeside has seven straight wins, Chamblee has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Lakeside didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Chamblee by a score of 12-7 on Thursday.

Luke Barron looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Andrew Booth was a standout: he scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Rory Lichtman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

Lakeside pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Chamblee, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
