Basketball Recap: Paideia Takes a Loss

Paideia extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They took an 83-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Columbia Eagles. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (62), the Pythons still had to take the loss.

As for Columbia, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. That looming 83-71 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Columbia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carlin 'CJ' Jacob led the charge by shooting 75% from the field en route to 22 points along with five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jace Smith, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 23 points and five rebounds.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paideia and Vashon will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for Columbia, they will face off against Morrow at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
