Soccer Game Preview: Hopewell vs. Prince George

Hopewell hasn't had much luck against Prince George recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Hopewell will square off against Prince George at 7:00 p.m.

Hopewell had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the six-goal drubbing they dealt Varina on Tuesday. Hopewell never let Varina get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. Hopewell has beaten Varina the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Varina has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Prince George was forced to settle for a draw. They and New Kent finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw on Monday.

Hopewell's win bumped their record up to 2-0. Prince George's draw makes their record 0-1-1 this season.

Hopewell came up short against Prince George in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Hopewell avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
