Softball Recap: Porter Has No Trouble Against Tarkington

While Porter put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Tarkington. The Porter Spartans were the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over the Tarkington Longhorns. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Kami Hayes looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Kylie Rose and Mckenna Rinewalt did most of the damage at the plate: Rose went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Rinewalt went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Avery Evans-Pickens was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

Porter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tarkington only posted an OBP of .100.

Porter's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Tarkington, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Porter has already played their next contest, a 10-2 victory against La Grange on the 13th. As for Tarkington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 13-3 defeat against East Chambers on the 14th.
