Preview: South Kingstown Rebels vs. La Salle Academy Rams
South Kingstown is 0-7 against La Salle Academy since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The South Kingstown Rebels will be playing at home against the La Salle Academy Rams at noon The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (South Kingstown is ranked ninth, while La Salle Academy is ranked fifth).
After only seven points in their last matchup, South Kingstown made sure to put some points up on the board against Shea on Friday. South Kingstown simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Shea 41-14 on the road. South Kingstown pushed the score to 35-14 by the end of the third, a deficit Shea had little chance of recovering from.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 42 points the game before, La Salle Academy were a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a 22-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Hendricken.
South Kingstown's victory was their fourth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 5-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-6 Shea and 2-4 Portsmouth (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.5% over those games). As for La Salle Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
South Kingstown took a serious blow against La Salle Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 36-0. Will South Kingstown have more luck at home instead of on the road?
