Football Game Preview: Kane Wolves vs. Moniteau Warriors

The Kane Wolves are taking a road trip to challenge the Moniteau Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Kane's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 54-0 victory over Coudersport. The game marked the Wolves' most dominant win of the season.

Evan Anderson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 202 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Those 202 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Kane didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Coudersport to a completion percentage of just 40%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Ryan Paul and Thomas Shrubb, who each logged one passes deflected. That defensive display was nothing new: Kane has limited their opponent to a lower and lower completion percentage in four consecutive matchups.

Kane's defense didn't let Alex Adkins, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for 6.5 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Isaiah Smith and Preston Darr, who racked up 4.5 sacks between them. Smith has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last seven times he's played. Kane received some extra help from Smith, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, Moniteau came into Saturday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 28-21 victory over Union City on Saturday. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but the Warriors were the (much) better team in the second half.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-5. As for Kane, their record now sits at 6-2.

Kane strolled past Moniteau in their previous meeting back in August of 2021 by a score of 21-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
