Basketball Recap: Church Point Takes a Loss

Church Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 48-40 to the Ville Platte Bulldogs. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Ville Platte's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yazminn Ardoin, who posted eight points. Ardoin has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Bri'Telah Freeman was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven boards.

Church Point's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Ville Platte, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-8.

Church Point will take on Mamou at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ville Platte, they will challenge Crowley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
