Baseball Recap: Batavia Has No Trouble Against Blanchester

Batavia won the last time they faced Blanchester and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Wildcats. Considering the Bulldogs have won eight games by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Brayden Schmittou, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Patrick, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Batavia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blanchester only posted an OBP of .345.

Batavia's record now sits at 10-2. As for Blanchester, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Batavia will face off against Monroe at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Blanchester, they will take on Goshen at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
