Volleyball Recap: Greendale Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Greendale had to endure a three-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Hmong American Peace Academy by a score of 3-1 on Thursday.

The victory didn't come easy: Hmong American Peace Academy scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 23-25, 25-20, 25-22.

Xavier Zimmerman paced Greendale's offense, picking up 23 kills. Zimmerman got some help from Jakup Ademi and his 41 assists. Zimmerman was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Greendale's win bumped their record up to 2-12. As for Hmong American Peace Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

The future could be bright for both Greendale and Hmong American Peace Academy: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Panthers will try to hand Pius XI Catholic their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Hmong American Peace Academy will look to extend Oconomowoc's three-game losing streak when they meet at 10:00 a.m. on the 11th.
