Baseball Game Preview: Newton South Lions vs. Newton North Tigers

Newton South hasn't had much luck against Newton North recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 12:00 p.m. Newton South will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

While Newton South didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Cambridge Rindge & Latin by a score of 10-6 on Wednesday. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Newton North's offense. They came up short against Braintree on Wednesday, falling 6-0. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Wamps: they've now lost three in a row.

Newton South's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Newton North, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
