Volleyball Recap: DME Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

DME Academy can bid farewell to their three-match losing streak thanks to their match on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Mater Lakes Academy Bears.

Marianna Casta?o Herrera paced DME Academy's offense, picking up seven kills. Casta?o Herrera got some help from Mar Villena Dura and her 19 assists. Olivia Lewis controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Despite the loss, Mater Lakes Academy still got an impressive performance from Antonella Maldonado, who had 15 assists and seven digs. Maldonado is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last ten games she's played.

DME Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Mater Lakes Academy, with the loss, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 17-3.

DME Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Academy of the Holy Names on the 3rd. As for Mater Lakes Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Leon on the 3rd.
