Preview: Princeton Tigers vs. Worth County Tigers

Princeton and Worth County are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Princeton Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Worth County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Princeton comes in on four and Worth County on five.

Even though King City scored an imposing 58 points last Friday, Princeton still came out on top. Princeton came out on top in a nail-biter against King City and snuck past 60-58. Given Princeton's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while King City is ranked 470th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Worth County was able to grind out a solid victory over North Nodaway on Thursday, taking the game 57-46. 57 seems to be a good number for Worth County as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Tyler New was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. New is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Bo Collins, who scored eight points along with two steals.

Princeton's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Worth County, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.

Princeton and Worth County were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but Princeton came up empty-handed after a 42-41 defeat. Can Princeton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
