Baseball Recap: Bourne Canalmen vs. Case Cardinals
Bourne had lost six straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 1-6 to make it seven. They lost 10-1 to the Case Cardinals. If the Canalmen were looking for revenge after losing 4-1 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Bourne saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luca Finton, who went 1-for-2 with one double. James Crowell was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
As for Case, the win got them back to even at 4-4. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Case's side, Jackson McLane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zachary Kern, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aaron Sellers, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bourne is set to face off against their familiar foe Seekonk at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Case will square off against rival West Bridgewater at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
