Preview: Bishop Watterson Eagles vs. St. Francis DeSales Stallions
The Bishop Watterson Eagles's road trip will continue as they head out to face the St. Francis DeSales Stallions at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Bishop Watterson has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Last Saturday, Bishop Watterson was able to grind out a solid win over Marysville, taking the game 54-43.
Meanwhile, St. Francis DeSales entered their tilt with Worthington Kilbourne with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. St. Francis DeSales snuck past Worthington Kilbourne with a 53-49 win on Tuesday. Given St. Francis DeSales' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Worthington Kilbourne is ranked 340th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The win got Bishop Watterson back to even at 5-5. As for St. Francis DeSales, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Bishop Watterson was able to grind out a solid win over St. Francis DeSales when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 40-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop Watterson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
