Potlatch faced Deary in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Loggers blew past the Mustangs 60-20. The Loggers haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Jay Marshal was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 108 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries, and also threw for 134 yards and one touchdown on only seven passes.

Jacob Mechling and Jarrett Keen certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Mechling picked up 130 receiving yards and one score, while Keen rushed for 67 yards and one touchdown. Mechling showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 50 yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Cooper Dammerman, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Potlatch's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Deary, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Potlatch will welcome Kendrick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Loggers will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Deary, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lakeside at 7:00 p.m. The Knights will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
