Basketball Game Preview: North Marion Colts vs. Eastside Rams

North Marion and Eastside are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The North Marion Colts will challenge the Eastside Rams on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

North Marion is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Lake Weir with a sharp 48-22 victory. Given the Colts' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 553rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Marion's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but JAMEYA BROWN led the charge by going 9 of 15 on her way to 20 points and five assists. That's the most assists BROWN has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of JERMEA JACKSON, who posted seven points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, Eastside beat Fort White 53-43 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

The win got North Marion back to even at 13-13. As for Eastside, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

North Marion was dealt a bruising 56-10 defeat at the hands of Eastside in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can North Marion avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
