La Monte finds home court redemption against Columbia Independent

Recap: La Monte Vikings vs. Columbia Independent

There's no place like home for the La Monte Vikings, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-47 win over Columbia Independent on Monday. That's another feather in the cap for La Monte, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Despite the loss, Columbia Independent still got an impressive performance from Blake Morris, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Morris scored a full 27.7% of Columbia Independent's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Martin, who scored 13 points.

Even though they lost, Columbia Independent were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

La Monte pushed their record up to 6-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Columbia Independent, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.

La Monte won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cole Camp at 5:30 p.m. on December 12th. Cole Camp is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Columbia Independent, they will head out on the road to face off against Christian School District at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
