Softball Game Preview: Hamilton Braves vs. Durham Trojans

The Hamilton Braves will head out on the road to square off against the Durham Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hamilton will be strutting in after a win while Durham will be coming in after a loss.

Hamilton will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Maxwell, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Braves were the clear victors by a 23-4 margin over the Panthers on Tuesday. Considering the Braves have won six games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Durham unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 10-6 to East Nicolaus. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Trojans, who until this contest were averaging 3.78 runs allowed.

Durham saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashley Spence, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

Durham's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6-1. As for Hamilton, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Hamilton was able to grind out a solid win over Durham in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 8-4. Will the Braves repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
