Basketball Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short

Mitchell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 42nd straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Falcon Falcons, falling 77-23. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 73-8 back in January.

Blake Pufpaff went supernova for Falcon, going 8-for-9 on his way to 20 points. Thanks to that strong game, Pufpaff now owns an excellent 46.6% field goal percentage. Isaak Lane was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 12 points and five boards.

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Falcon, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mitchell will head out to challenge Alameda at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Falcon, they are taking a road trip to take on Palmer Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Falcon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 17 games.
