Basketball Game Preview: Lower Brule Sioux vs. Omaha Nation Chiefs

The Lower Brule Sioux will face off against the Omaha Nation Chiefs at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lower Brule comes in on three and Omaha Nation on six.

Lower Brule's tournament run continued when they took on Crazy Horse on Friday. Lower Brule breezed by Crazy Horse to the tune of 72-36. The Sioux have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 30 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Omaha Nation hadn't done well against Marty Indian recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Omaha Nation walked away with a 65-56 win over Marty Indian.

Omaha Nation is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Lower Brule, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

Lower Brule didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Omaha Nation in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 75-69 win. Will Lower Brule repeat their success, or does Omaha Nation have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
