As a matter of fact, Sumner put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 63-3 win over South Kitsap. The Spartans have beaten the Wolves the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wolves has come to flipping the script.

Lance McGee had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 119 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. McGee is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 119 every time he's taken the field this season. Emilio Collie also helped out as he racked up 100 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sumner was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 300 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Kitsap only rushed for 30.

Meanwhile, Puyallup faced Emerald Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Vikings' defense stepped up to hand the Jaguars a 54-0 shutout. That 54 point margin sets a new team best for the Vikings this season.

Sumner better keep an eye on Luke Parker. He was instrumental in Puyallup's win, throwing for 262 yards and five TDs while completing 81% of his passes, and also rushing for 56 yards and one score. Lawson Looker did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 101 receiving yards.

Puyallup's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Kitiona Tupua and Treyshon Lovelace, who each picked up one sack apiece.

The victory got Sumner back to even at 2-2. As for Puyallup, their record now sits at 4-0.

Saturday's game might be decided on the ground. Sumner has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 201.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Puyallup struggles in that department as they've been averaging 201 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Sumner skirted past Puyallup 17-14 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Vikings' Kyson Douglas, who picked up 129 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 67 yards. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be easier for the Spartans to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
