Baseball Recap: Aquinas Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Aquinas Academy entered their tilt with Rochester on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Rams by a score of 7-2. For the Crusaders, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

Aquinas Academy got a great performance from Tim Crawford as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Crawford has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Giovanni Spotts and Jonah Burchill did most of the damage at the plate: Spotts went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Burchill got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. What's more, Burchill posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March. Ian Patterson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Aquinas Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Rochester, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Aquinas Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Rochester: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
