Friars cross the Hudson River to take on three of New York's top teams.

The SNY Invitational in New York City and Montverde Academy Invitational in Florida will provide stiff challenges for two highly-ranked teams over the weekend.

No. 2 St. Anthony (Jersey City, N.J.) will attempt to overcome three powerhouse New York programs in Brooklyn at the SNY Invitational. The Friars open with Mount Vernon, led by recently-named McDonald's All-American Game head coach Bob Cimmino Jr. Boys & Girls (Brooklyn) faces Rice on the opposite side of the four-team bracket.

No. 11 Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) begins play at the Montverde Academy Invitational in central Florida today against West Orange. Teams from North Carolina, Pennsylvania and West Virginia – in addition to Florida and Nevada – round out the field. Host Montverde Academy knocked off the Pilots in last year's event.

No. 15 Chaminade (St. Louis, Mo.) gets one of its biggest tests of the season tonight at the Coaches vs. Cancer Shootout. Butler signee Roosevelt Jones and 14-3 O'Fallon (Ill.) will attempt to end the Flyers' unbeaten run.

Several other big games will have an impact on Monday's national rankings.

No. 5 Norcom (Portsmouth, Va.) will have to get by reeling DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) – once ranked as high as No. 10 this season – at the Battle of the Bay to keep its record unblemished.

Two of Chicago's top programs will take to the court at the University of Illinois-Chicago as No. 3 Simeon faces Whitney Young. The latter has been a bit of a disappointment this season, going just 10-8 despite a glut of future Division I talent on the roster. A win over Simeon could turn things around in an instant for head coach Tyrone Slaughter and the Dolphins.

In California, No. 19 Etiwanda will have its hands full with Loyola (Los Angeles) at the Fairfax State Preview on Saturday. Loyola has won six of its last seven games led by 6-foot-5 junior Julian Harrell, who is averaging 16.0 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.
