Baseball Game Preview: Dublin Gaels vs. Granada Matadors

For the second straight game, Dublin will face off against Granada. The Gaels will welcome the Matadors at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Dublin 2.3, Granada 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Dublin is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Granada.

For Granada's part, they got a great performance from Alex Piscotty as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Piscotty has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Adrian Zambrano, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

Granada hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dublin struck out ten times.

Granada pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Dublin, their loss dropped their record down to 16-6.
