Basketball Recap: Porter Ridge Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After a string of three wins, Porter Ridge's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a hard 70-51 fall against the Marvin Ridge Mavericks. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-43 on January 7th.

Ashanti Taylor and Kali Williams certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Taylor dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 11 boards, and 11 steals, while Williams went 7 for 16 on her way to 24 points and five rebounds. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last 21 games she's played dating back to last season. Camille White also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Porter Ridge's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4. As for Marvin Ridge, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.

Porter Ridge will welcome Weddington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Porter Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season. As for Marvin Ridge, they are taking a road trip to challenge Cuthbertson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Marvin Ridge is facing Cuthbertson at the right time seeing as Cuthbertson is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
