Volleyball Game Preview: De La Salle Meteors vs. Providence Catholic Celtics

The De La Salle Meteors will head out to take on the Providence Catholic Celtics at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. De La Salle has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with nine straight defeats, while Providence Catholic will come in with three straight wins.

On Wednesday, De La Salle came up short against Payton College Prep and fell 2-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Providence Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over Illinois Math & Science Academy on Wednesday, taking the game 2-0.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Providence Catholic was: they took both sets by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-8.

Providence Catholic's win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for De La Salle, their loss dropped their record down to 1-19.

De La Salle couldn't quite get it done against Providence Catholic when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Meteors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
